This software is a game changer. For the first time, audio can be edited just like MIDI. In the past, audio editing was done in a linear fashion, left to right along the time line, not necessarily so here. Once the material has been analyzed, it is converted into what they call “blobs”. These blobs can be removed, copied & pasted here or there, stretched longer or shorter, pasted on top of one another, louder or softer, adjust formants, timing, etc. I find most aspects of this software very easy to use, and the layout makes good sense with the time line along the horizontal axis and the note info along the vertical axis. It helps to actually see where the notes are so I can work out parts better. The only thing I haven’t gotten a grip on is the timing tool, it’s still confusing to me. What I deal with is online collaborations where the singer pushes record and then sings into the air without following a click track, so the timing is off. I have nothing to go on as to BPM. So far that has been the most difficult thing to edit (confusing). Otherwise, this software is the best thing going. Highly recommended.

GREAT PRODUCT!!,
Great product for all you amateur recording engineers out there. IT SAVES MY VOCALS. I lack in singing ability, and I can’t stress enough that without this product, I couldn’t ever complete a song. BUT WITH THIS PRODUCT, I actually sound like I have a great voice. I get comments allllllllll the time about how well I sing, if they only knew! GET THIS if your vocals lack. I don’t know much about it’s application for things other than pitch correction, because that’s all I use it for. BUT, if you need an easy vocal fix, I HIGHLY recommend!

I use this program as a plugin for Logic Pro 9. It provides a visual graph of the audio that it pitch corrects. You can also move the parts manually. My recommendation is to go to the Celemony website and watch the videos. You can download the trial and try it for 30 days with no restrictions. Order the product through Amazon and then enter the serial number in the trial version with out having to do a new clean install. Melodyne works great on lead vocals. I also pitch corrected bass guitar parts.
